Republican Presidential Debate Raise Concerns Over Cryptocurrency

At the recent Republican presidential debate, discussions included Bitcoin, SBF, ether, and SEC Chair Gensler. Pro-crypto candidate Vivek Ramaswamy emphasized the need for U.S. regulation to prevent fraud and sanctions violations in the crypto industry. Ramaswamy proposed reducing the SEC workforce, easing regulations, and treating most cryptocurrencies as commodities outside the SEC’s jurisdiction. Solana founder Anatoly Yakovenko expressed uncertainty about the future of the Saga phone due to disappointing sales, considering a smart wallet as an alternative. Over 1,000 BTC from the early stages of Bitcoin’s history, last moved 13 years ago, were transferred to trading desks and custodian services, with a current market value exceeding $40 million, indicating renewed interest in Bitcoin adoption.
